Hebrews 12:11 NASB
All discipline for the moment seems not to be joyful, but sorrowful; yet to those who have been trained by it, afterwards it yields the peaceful fruit of righteousness.
My commentary reminded me that although we all want smooth sailing, if is often difficulty that produces the most growth and fruit in us. From that, I’m praying this:
Replace the pronouns with the appropriate ones for the person (or yourself) that you are praying for.
Praying for you in this. And don’t forget to share this on social media or with a friend who could benefit. It would mean so much to me. And if you don’t want to miss a Praying God’s Word Wednesday, subscribe over on the right hand side of this page.
I have always been blessed and encouraged in reading that Scripture in Hebrews. It reminds me that there is purpose in difficulties beyond my understanding but always for my good.
It is so hopeful, isn’t it?
Lauren, this is a prayer I need and want. I appreciate you so much and pray for my humility and willingness to accept the road I am on in God’s will.
I found my post this week closing with praying Scripture. Thank you for getting me back to this way of praying.

I love it when God gives us exactly what we need – no matter the source. Thank you for telling me. Hopping over to read your post now.
Lauren I absolutely love these Wednesday praying scripture posts; I look forward to each one and they have been so helpful. You make it look so easy, I’m probably overthinking it! My daughter is going through a hard time right now thinking God is “punishing” her, but doesn’t see the positive side to that. Will be praying this scripture over her life! Thank you so much!!
So kind of you to say, Donna. And I’m so glad this week’s prayer is useful to you.
What a perfect Scripture to pray for one of our sons right now. And I needed to read and pray it TODAY. Thanks, Lauren.
I’m so glad it is helpful today. Thank you much for telling me.
Amen! I love this, Lauren! As a mom who is now hands off and hands up – this is a blessing! Thank you!
Thanks for praying with me, Maryleigh!
Lauren, I really like your weekly prayer prompts. I have always struggled with “how” to pray until I eventually realized that there is no right or wrong way. But it sure is helpful to have a bit of guidance every now and then! Thanks for sharing and linking with me.

You are so right about there being no right or wrong way. Left to my own devices my prayer time just starts getting so rote. Praying the same things over and over. So I like to use helps like this!
