The news of war breaking out in Europe has driven me to my knees to pray for a country and people I do not know. I don’t pretend to understand every thing that is going on, but I do understand that people are uncertain and afraid. On Sunday our pastor used Psalm 46 in praying for Ukraine and its people, and now I am doing the same.
“God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear, though the earth give way and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea…He makes wars cease to the ends of the earth.” Psalms 46:1-2, 9 NIV
There are so many things that I don’t know how to pray about. But the Holy Spirit can translate my groanings. But this I will pray:
Join me in praying for those in Ukraine and those countries already taking in refugees. And if you have a passage you are praying for them, please share below.
Praying for you in this. And don’t forget to share on social media or with a friend who could benefit. It would mean so much to me. And if you don’t want to miss a Praying God’s Word Wednesday, subscribe over on the right hand side of this page.
Amen. God is in this place and with His people wherever they are. Psalm 46 is the best. I am praying with you for the people of Ukraine. My heart has been so squished and squeezed with this war. I hate arguments let alone war. This one feels closer to me for some reason. I know no one there yet I do know people who do know missionaries and residents there. Praising God for His hand upon the people. War is about individuals on the ground more than it is about the overall picture of battles. My heart hurts.
Me too, Linda. Thank you for praying with me.
Amen, Lauren. I’m grappling with how to pray for such a big world event. I so appreciate your heart for prayer!
Thank you for praying with me, Jeanne.
Amen, Lauren. That very same Scripture has been on my heart. It’s true – we don’t know how to pray as we have not been in the situation they are in. May we be faithful to be praying, knowing the Holy Spirit will take our cries before the Father.
Yes! I am so thankful for that prayer help.
Please pray for my friend’s mom, parent-in-laws, and a whole group of moms with children who are currently driving to get to safety in another city in Ukraine. Pray Psalm 91 with me.
Praying for them all now, Lisa. Thank you for allowing me the privilege.
Amen!
Blessings,
Jennifer

I hope so too, Carol.
Hear my cry Oh Lord!
Don’t turn your face away from me.
My your love and mercy wash over these lands!
Come heal our land!
May Abba Father’s truth be the river of love that flows through his children all over the globe for the world to see the power of healing!
Amen.
