Praying Glory to God in the Highest #1

December 1, 2021 by Lauren 12 Comments

glory to God in the highestThis month we turn our prayer focus toward the Advent of Christ and all that means for us.  Praise to Him who came and lived and died to rise again seems like the appropriate place to start.

We often hear the expression “Jesus is the reason for the season.”  How true.  Would we exchange gifts had He not given us the gift of salvation from our sins.? We would never use the manger as a centerpiece had it been empty.  And the Child would be just another baby had He not relinquished His seat at the right hand of God to put on flesh.

Jesus did all that for us.  And He deserves our endless praise.  Read the story of His birth in Luke chapter 2 to refresh yourself on the details.  For today’s prayer, we focus on the choir of angels who appeared to a bunch of dirty shepherds. One of them broke the news of the Messiah’s birth and then a host (I’m assuming that’s a lot.) joined in exclaiming:

“Glory to God in the highest heaven, and on earth peace to those on whom his favor rests.” Luke 2:14 NIV

Join me in praising Him today:

glory to God in the highest

Let’s flood this space with praise this month.  Comment below on who He is to you.  And share this on your favorite social media platform using the icons below.  Invite others to join in giving glory to God in the highest.  And if you don’t want to miss any of the party, subscribe using the form on the right hand side of this page.

Praying for you in this.

Lauren

Glory be to the Highest! Praising our Lord for His love for us while we are sinners. And again and again, I sin and He continues to love me. Thank You, Jesus. He is the Highest and the Son and the One worthy of praise.

The Lord is my shepherd. I love seeing him as someone who tends to his flock, his people. And seeing how he takes such good care of us like a shepherd takes care of his flock. He truly is amazing!

About Me

I love Jesus, my husband and caffeine. The order of these can change depending on how tired I am. When my two daughters, stepson, and 4 grandchildren get to be too much, I practice yoga. God graciously allows me to share our adventures, victories and flub-ups from my laptop. May He be glorified here.
