“For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.” Matthew 11:30
I have been moonlighting for the past three and a half years. In addition to writing here on my own website, I write devotionals for Devotable LLC. I love being a part of this group of fellow writers and believers.
Devotable recently migrated from it’s own website and app to Medium.com. Have you been on Medium? It’s an online place for articles. You can search and find posts on just about any topic imaginable.
Me on Medium
I made the jump to publishing for Devotable on Medium last week. I crafted a commentary on Matthew 11:30.
A click on the title below takes you to the article. Thanks so much!
This Yoke is Easy? Following Jesus in a Post Christian Society
And now for this week’s featured post from the link up!
I’m following up my post about a tough topic with Theresa Boedeker’s Other’s Junk and a See-Through Trunk because it made me giggle. As important as it is to inform ourselves about the hard stuff and be prepared for spiritual battle, sometimes we just need to lighten up and laugh. Thank you for helping us do that, Theresa!

Hi, Lauren! I actually hadn’t heard of Medium before reading your post today, but I’m excited to check it out. Thanks for sharing and thanks so much for hosting!
Lauren says
Yes! Check it out. Be advised that it’s not a Christian site in and of itself. All kinds of content there.

Lauren, I read your article over at Devotable a few days ago. I loved it. I too write for Devotable, I’m new with them as of April of this year. I really love the community. See you there too. Blessings.

Thank you, Paula. I will look for you on Medium as well!
Barbara Harper says
I enjoyed the devotional! I agree, even though we’re physically safe so far, it looks like ominous clouds are on the horizon with the anti-Christian sentiment growing in society.
Too much of our striving seems to come from thinking we have to carry the yoke, instead of letting Jesus handle the heavy load.
Thanks for the link to Theresa’s article–very funny!
Lauren says
So thankful that He carries us! And so thankful for laughter, too.

I occasionally come across someone’s article linked on Medium and I’ll read it, but I haven’t ever quite figured out the ‘medium’ (no pun intended, ha). That’s neat that your moonlighting job has taken you there. I pray it goes well in that space!
Lauren says
I wish it were a “job” with pay. Maybe one day I’ll be paid to write. But if not, I love the written word and I love Jesus. So I press on!

I didn’t find a place to comment for your article, but you made me think of how much more isolated our own children feel today having grown up in a more secular world than we did – and how much more keenly they feel that isolation than I do.
Lauren says
I hadn’t really thought of that. I would much prefer they feel isolated than that they fit right in, though!
Linda Stoll says
Without His strength and leadership, the yoke would be truly burdensome. i’m so grateful to leave the heavy lifting to Him …
Lauren says
I”m so grateful too, Linda.
